Stop waterboarding Fox News!

Last night, Stephen Colbert satirized Sean Hannity’s “Liberty Tree” attack on President Obama. Colbert failed to appreciate it for what it is; Hannity’s latest feeble attempt to make sense of the real world. People actually laughed; but after I stopped laughing I felt a twinge of remorse!

Hey guys and gals… it isn’t right to make fun of the ethically and intellectually challenged journalists of Fox News. Remember… someone has to employ the bottom 5% of any profession, and Rupert Murdoch is doing more than his fair share. (Clear Channel should be appreciated for doing its bit for radio journalism.)

Fox News may be the Guantanamo prison of journalism, but in order to shut it down, more traditional organizations must be willing to employ and rehabilitate its occupants lest they freely wander our streets frightening our women and children.

Come on Huffington Post…. show the way… employ just one of them and MSNBC will surely follow by mentoring another one with Joe Scarborough or possibly Keith Olberman (on second thought there might be bloodshed). After that…. the more traditional media might be inspired to do their civic duty!

In the meantime, “Thanks Rupert for caring so much about a country that is not your own.
