About

Ed Lee

Hi!. Thanks for visiting my blog. Feel free to ask questions or to make comments or suggestions either online or offline by email at  edwinlee@znet.com .

I’m a retired electrical engineer who graduated from MIT in 1958, an entrepreneur who started two successful companies and two other learning experiences, and the CEO of Pro-Log Corporation for 16 years. Pro-Log, which four of us founded in 1972, was one of the first companies to adapt microprocessors to industrial applications including controllers for machines and instruments. It was purchased by Motorola in 1997.  I have received 23 US Patents on inventions related to electronics, computers, non-linear magnetics and cryogenics.

I also wroteThe Handbook of Channel Marketing, on how to market hi-tech products through various sales channels. This is akin to a German writing a definitive guidebook to French culture. You can download this book at no cost from my website at www.elew.com .

For the last 15 years, I’ve systematically studied the engineering principles of the system of evolution which has produced life and sustained it on Earth for over 3 billion years. I’ve evaluated how the principles of evolution apply to economic and political systems. This blog documents some of what I’ve learned. My seven grandchildren have motivated my interest in healthy and sustainable economic and political systems.

I also use this blog to discuss other things that interest me including books, movies and some of the more memorable people I’ve known.
